Our work

What the German Hand-to-Hand Fight association works towards — from running competitions to integration through sport.

Area 1

Competitions

The DHFV coordinates national competition and represents Germany’s interests internationally.

This includes staging national and European championships, taking part in World Championships and ensuring consistent competition rules, weight classes and refereeing standards.

Education

Consistent standards depend on well-trained coaches and referees.

The association runs courses and ongoing training for coaches, referees and athletes — from the coaching licence and the referee licence to regular seminars.

Area 3

Youth development

Supporting sport for children and young people is firmly enshrined in the association’s constitution.

From youth training and school events to dedicated youth age categories at competitions: today’s young athletes will be stepping onto the mat for Germany tomorrow.

Integration through sport

The DHFV uses martial arts to promote integration, equal opportunities and social participation.

Children, young people and people with a migrant background in particular find community and new prospects through sport. On the mat, what counts is commitment, respect and fair play — not origin or background.
