Disciplines

Martial arts in Bad Kissingen: three disciplines

At the Kalte Halle, we train Hand-to-Hand Fight, Sambo and Combat Sambo. Many techniques build on each other, so rather than learning three separate sports, you learn one complete package of stand-up and ground fighting. Self-defence is always part of it.

Hand-to-Hand Fight

A full-contact combat sport combining punches, kicks, throws and groundwork. In competition, fighters wear a helmet, gloves and protective gear. It’s our core discipline, in which we compete all the way up to national team level.

Sambo

The name stands for “self-defence without weapons”. A grappling sport in a jacket: throws, hold-downs and joint locks on the ground. Sambo trains balance, grip fighting and technique, and is the basis for many throws in Hand-to-Hand Fight.

Combat Sambo

Sambo with punches and kicks: throws, groundwork and striking in one system. For everyone who wants to combine grappling with stand-up fighting.

Tradition

Sambo in Bad Kissingen since 2001

Our coaches and many of our athletes come from the sambo section of TSV Bad Kissingen, which Albert Köpplin has led since 2001. In Sambo they compete for TSV, in Hand-to-Hand Fight for the DHFV. One team, one gym, more than 20 years of martial arts in Bad Kissingen.
